Objective: To create and display a birdhouse with an awareness of it's location in the chronology of design. I decided to base my project off of the Droog pioneer, Hella Jongerius.
I took inspiration from Hella's ability to magnify manufacturing artifacts in compelling ways. I made sure to keep production processes at the forefront throughout my form exploration.
The final birdhouse is created simply by soldering copper-sheet polygons into the semblance of a vessel. The form is then set in an ammonia chamber for a patinated verdigris finish.
